How to play Mines

Steps follow the Game Rules screen of the provider’s demo.

  1. Set the bet. The provider’s demo accepts 0.10–100 USD.

  2. Choose the number of mines, from 1 to 20. It changes both the odds and the multiplier.

  3. Open tiles: click a tile yourself or use the random-tile button.

  4. A star raises the multiplier. A mine ends the round and the bet is lost.

  5. Cash out after any star to take the amount at the current multiplier.

Field, mines and first-tile multipliers

The field has 25 tiles in a 5 × 5 grid. Before the round you choose how many of them hide mines, from 1 to 20; the demo starts at 3. Every other tile hides a star. Each star you open raises the multiplier, and the mine count decides how fast: at 1 mine the first star pays 1.01×, at 20 mines 4.85×. The provider states that the mine count affects both the odds and the multiplier. The table shows the first-star multiplier read from the demo screen next to the chance of a safe first tile.

Mines odds: the chance of a safe tile

The chance of opening n stars in a row without hitting a mine is C(25 − m, n) / C(25, n), where m is the number of mines. Each cell pairs the multiplier from the demo’s server table with that chance.

Chances are our calculation from the 5 × 5 field and the 1–20 mine range shown in the demo; Spribe does not publish the formula. Multipliers come from the table the demo server sends to the game, which we compared with the formula in all 290 cases.

One rule behind every multiplier

At every star and every mine count we checked, the multiplier equals 0.97 divided by the chance of reaching that star (290 of 290 values, within 0.01). It follows that a bet has the same expected return, 97 %, whichever mine count you set and whenever you cash out, before any payout cap, so the mine count is not a way to gain an edge. What changes is the spread: more mines mean rarer, larger multipliers. Expected return is a long-run average, not a forecast for one bet.

Where the top multiplier comes from

The rules state 5,044,291× as the maximum odds. The same figure sits in the server table: 12 mines with all 13 stars opened, 0.97 × C(25, 12). The operator caps the payout of one bet; in the provider’s demo the cap is 10,000 USD.

Can a predictor see the mines?

No. Spribe fixes the mine layout with a seed before you open the first tile. Before the round the game shows only the SHA256 of the next server seed, and afterwards you can check the bet in the game history. A predictor has no data to see the mines through. How the check works is described on Spribe’s Provably Fair page.

Mines vs other crash games

Mines is the only one of the four played on a fixed 5 × 5 field: the risk comes from how many mines you set and how many tiles you open. The other three are built around a shared round, a road or a tower. All four are listed on the crash games hub. “Not published” means the provider does not publish the value; “Not confirmed” means we could not confirm it at the source.

Mines FAQ

Is Mines a legit game?

Mines is made by Spribe (Spribe OÜ) and was released on 14 June 2019 in the Turbo Games pack. It uses provably fair technology: the server seed is shown as a SHA256 hash before the round, and each bet can be checked from the game history. Whether a particular casino is trustworthy is a separate question.

Can I play the Mines game for free?

Yes. The demo on this page runs the provider’s own version of Mines with demo credits, so no real money is staked. Spribe also offers the demo on its own site. Limits and the multiplier table at an operator were not compared with this demo, so treat the figures here as the demo’s.

What are the odds in the Mines game?

The odds depend on the mine count, from 1 to 20 on a 5 × 5 field. The chance of n safe tiles in a row is C(25 − m, n) / C(25, n), with m mines (our calculation). At 3 mines the first tile is safe 88 % of the time, and three in a row 67 %.

How many mines should I choose?

No mine count is better on expected return. In the demo’s multiplier table every multiplier equals 0.97 divided by the chance of reaching that star, so an uncapped bet returns 97 % on average at any mine count (our calculation). Payout caps can change it. More mines give rarer, larger multipliers; the choice changes the spread, not the average.

Is there an official Mines app?

Spribe lists no app on its Mines page (checked 27 September 2026), and a Google Play search for “mines spribe” in Nigeria showed no Spribe apps. Treat APK files named like “Mines Real Money” as unofficial: nothing ties them to the provider. Play the browser demo instead.

Can a Mines predictor show where the mines are?

No. The mine layout is fixed by the seed before you open the first tile. The game shows only the SHA256 of the next server seed, an encrypted value, and a finished bet can be checked in the game history. A predictor has no data to see the mines through.
